How long will I require treatment?
-This depends on the curve severity and location. Generally, larger curves have a higher tendency to progress as well as curves in the thoracic spine. Therefore, the rates will be different for different individuals. For a sample page of some of our results see the Testimonials link

What is a Cobb angle?
-A Cobb angle is a measurement used to assess the size of the curvature. Where the curves starts and where the curve stops an angle exists. This angle is measured and referred to as the Cobb angle. Any angle measured larger than 10 degrees is, by definition, considered a scoliosis

I am a mother and have scoliosis. Should I have my daughter evaluated if no one has noticed a scoliosis yet?
-Yes, because a genetic component is often underlying in many cases of scoliosis. Many schools have done away w/ school screening programs and until more of the general population is aware of the success of conservative treatment, there may be several drawbacks if it is detected at school. See Points of Interest link. Although the individuals performing screens are usually very dedicated, budget and time concerns limit the testing that is initially performed. However, there are numerous other non-invasive screening measures that we are able to use in addition to those typically performed to detect scoliosis, even at it's earlier stages

Do you use different approaches, therapies, treatments, etc.? YES!     -Scoliosis is a complex and largely multi-factorial neuron disorder. There is almost always no one treatment per se to address the wide diversity. Therefore, we use an array of treatment procedures to maximize the effectiveness of each case. Although there are numerous treatment procedures involved, patients are tested in a number of subjective and objective parameters prior to, during, and at the end of different phases of care. See treatment info for more details.

Will I be performing a prescribed therapy at home? YES!
-Even though office visits are more intense and involved then conventional treatment, optimum results require effort on your part outside of the clinic. Patients are educated in home care procedures to accelerate results, compliment clinic treatment, promote health independence, and maintain long lasting results!
